Cabinet approves PSB restructure.

ISLAMABAD -- The federal cabinet headed by Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday approved restructuring of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) and its executive committee, reducing the numbers of members.

After discussing a summary moved by Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC), the federal cabinet decided that PSB will be comprised of 11 members including two members from private sector.

Well-placed sources informed that the PSB board currently comprises 37 members while the 16-member executive committee has now been reduced to five.

'This is a good decision as reducing the numbers of members will enable to PSB to hold maximum numbers of board and executive committee meetings,' a PSB officer said.

Another officer, meanwhile, said that although restructuring is a positive development, the government should focus on appointing a regular Director General of PSB, whose seat is lying vacant for the last two years and affairs of PSB are being run on ad-hoc basis.
