BRT to be launched on July 1.

PESHAWAR -- The much delayed Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) would start its operation on July 1, according to sources.

A senior government official told Dawn that the much delayed project would be finally on track and running from July 1. He said that civil work of the project was already completed while installation of intelligent transport system was likely to be completed by June 25 and it would be followed by launch of bus service on July 1.

The official said that off-corridor work to mitigate traffic problems would continue.

Work on the Peshawar BRT was launched in October 2017 and the then provincial government had claimed to complete it within six months.
