Brain Drain.

Employment opportunities in Pakistan are declining rapidly, especially post-pandemic. As a result of this trend, along with rising rates of inflation that have troubled countless lives, hundreds of thousands of people are looking for work abroad. On an individual level, we can celebrate this development since it represents the skills and proficiency that our population has. On the state-level however, this reflects a failure to provide adequate platforms through which a decent wage can be earned. The same talent that is being exported can be put to use domestically as well.

Currently, 286,648 Pakistanis from Punjab and KP are registered for overseas employment, primarily based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Oman and Qatar. To facilitate them, and improve relations with the respective countries, the Ministry of Overseas Pakistani and Human Resource Development has taken steps to ensure that the export of this manpower is as smooth as possible.
