Boy's tortured, partially burnt body found dumped in bushes.

KARACHI -- A tortured and burnt out body of a 10-year-old boy was found dumped at a desolate place of Steel Town on the outskirts of the city, officials said on Thursday.

The area police said that the body was found lying in the bushes near the railway tracks along Darya Khan Goth late Wednesday night.

It was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal formalities.

Police surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed said that the 10-11 years old boy with multiple injuries all over his body and a massive open wound on the head was brought to the hospital.

She added that the body was partly burnt but it was but recognisable.

Samples were collected for DNA test and to ascertain whether he was subjected to sexual assault.

Malir SSP Irfan Bahadur said that the victim was later identified as a worker of a mechanic shop in Dhabeji, Thatta district. He had left the shop with someone by a motorbike on Wednesday evening.

Preliminary investigation suggested that he was hit on his head with some hard and blunt object at the crime scene and later kerosene oil was sprinkled on him to torch the body, the police officer said.

Meanwhile, police conducted raids at different places in Dhabeji to trace out the culprit(s).
