Body due to reach Larkana for probe into issuance of domiciles to non-residents.

LARKANA -- A three-member body is scheduled to arrive here on Thursday (today) for probe into complaints about issuance of domicile certificates to non-residents of Sindh.

Qazi Shahid Pervez, senior member of the Board of Revenue Sindh, leads the committee constituted by the Sindh chief secretary a day before. Services, general administration and coordination department secretary Dr Saeed Ahmed Mangnejo and Board of Revenue (PRC) deputy director Nazir Ahmed Qureshi would be its members.

Terms of reference of the committee are to inspect and scrutinise the record of domicile certificates issued in various districts of the province, says a notification.

It would also investigate the complaints and reports, identify the domicile certificates issued to the non-residents of the district, fix responsibility and give its recommendations for further action as per law and rules. The committee was also asked to give its initial report regarding the district highlighted in the complaints within seven days.

A handout issued by the information department on Wednesday quoted Larkana Commissioner Mohammad Saleem Raza Khuhro as saying that the committee would reach the deputy commissioner's office on Thursday to initiate the probe.

The commissioner asked people to appear before the committee if they had any solid proof and evidence with them and get their statements recorded.
