BISEs suggest students promotion formula.

BAHAWALPUR -- A committee of the chairmen of intermediate boards in Punjab has submitted recommendations to the government for the promotion of students of classes IX and XI to next grades across the province.

This was stated by Dr Muhammad Mazhar Saeed, the chairman of the Bahawalpur Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), on Monday.

Talking to Dawn, he said it was expected that the Punjab government would approve these recommendations soon to benefit hundreds of thousands of students anxiously awaiting their results. These recommendations pertained to the promotion to next respective grades of Class IX students, who have sat examinations, and of Class XI without sitting any exam, and also declaration of success formula for the Class XII students.

If approved, the decision would benefit over 57,000 Class XI students registered with the Bahawalpur board and over 150,000 Class IX students who appeared in the annual board examination. Examiners would complete in 90 days the marking of papers of...
