Bid foiled to smuggle medicines to Afghanistan.

CHAGAI -- The Levies personnel on Wednesday seized a huge quantity of medicines allegedly stored at an abandoned place during a raid.

Police said the medicines were to be smuggled to Afghanistan.

According to official sources, on a tip-off about the presence of medicines, a raid was conducted on Wednesday by the Quick Response Force under the command of Dalbandin Assistant Commissioner Mohammad Javed Domki at an Afghan refugee camp in Girdi Jangal area of Dalbandin.

The sources said the medicines included antibiotics, Leva floxacine injections, syrups, Panadol/Calpol, Nuberol tablets, Vitamin D tablets, Dexa methasone injections.

Earlier on Tuesday, Dalbandin police also confiscated a huge quantity of medicines stored in 6 packets and these medicines were also meant to be smuggled to Afghanistan.

Dalbandin Police Station House Officer Khalid Badeni said these medicines were loaded on a pick-up at Faisal Colony transport terminal and were supposed to be smuggled to Afghanistan, but timely action by police foiled the smuggling bid.
