Bhara Kahu, Bahria Town report most positive cases.

ISLAMABAD -- Bhara Kahu and Bahria Town reported the most cases of Covid-19 on Sunday as 131 people contracted the virus in the capital with the positivity ratio recorded at 2.3pc.

Rawalpindi, on the other hand, reported one casualty and 32 new patients.

According to data available with Dawn, 5,477 tests were conducted on Saturday out of which results of 74 males and 57 females came back positive.

As many as 11 cases each were reported from Bhara Kahu and Bahria Town, 10 cases each from F-6, G-6, G-7, G-8, H-8, H-13 and I-11, eight people tested positive in F-11, seven each in I-8, G-10, G-11 and G-13 and six cases each were detected in F-10, Chak Shahzad and DHA-II.

According to District Health Officer Dr Zaeem Zia, the number of cases had reduced due to tracking, testing and quarantine (TTQ) policy.

In April 2020, Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar had announced implementation of the TTQ policy, claiming that it was being used to trace contacts of confirmed patients.Meanwhile, one person succumbed to the virus and 32 got infected in Rawalpindi on Sunday.

Tayyaba Nasir, 63, a resident of Committee Chowk, was brought to Rawalpindi Institute of Urology (RIU) on Jan 16 where she died on Sunday morning.
