Balochistan budget focuses on health sector: official.

QUETTA -- Balochistan government spokesman Liaquat Shahwani said on Monday the provincial budget for the next financial year had great focus on the health sector.

Addressing a press conference, he said the Covid-19 pandemic was a big challenge for the government and it would use all of its resources to contain the spread of the deadly virus.

He said funds had been allocated in the budget for establishment of new hospitals in the province. Around 1700 jobs will be created in the health department. The air ambulance service would soon be launched in Balochistan, he added. He said the federal government had also allocated Rs8 billion for dealing with the coronavirus issue.

Mr Shahwani was of the opinion that coronavirus was dangerous for a person who was already suffering from a disease. He expressed concern over the fact that the number of deaths by coronavirus was increasing with the passage of time.
