Bajaur villagers end boycott of anti-polio campaign.

BAJAUR -- The residents of Nawagai in Bajaur tribal district ended their boycott of the ongoing anti-polio drive and allowed the vaccinators to administer vaccine to their children after the district administration assured them of provision of water to their area.

The villagers of several tribes of Nawagai had announced to boycott the campaign over shortage of drinking water in their area. However, they ended the boycott successful talks between the local elders and officials of district administration, according to a statement issued by the office of deputy commissioner.

Deputy Commissioner Iftikhar Alam ordered Additional Assistance Commissioner Bilal Naseer to immediately visit the area when he came to know about the boycott by the villagers. The AAC, accompanied by a other officials, visited the area and met with the local elders, who informed about the reason of the boycott.
