Bajaur set to get Rescue 1122 service.

KHAR -- It is all set for the launch of the Rescue 1122 service in Bajaur tribal district.

An official of the district administration told Dawn that Bajaur would be the second tribal district to have the rescue service as it was launched in Khyber district lately.

He said a total of 49 Rescue 1122 employees along with five fire brigades and equipment arrived Khar, the district headquarters, on Thursday morning.

The official said the vehicles and equipment had been kept in a government building temporarily, while the Rescue 1122 staffers were accommodated in the civil colony.

He said Rescue 1122 would set up one station in Khar and another in Nawagai town.

Meanwhile, speakers in a seminar held here on Thursday declared the police a vital part of judicial system in tribal districts and called for tangible steps to increase their capacity.
