Bajaur's lone USC outlet short of food items.

BAJAUR -- The lone outlet of the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) in Bajaur tribal district has been without essential commodities for the last several weeks, depriving the residents of buying several edible items on subsidised rates.

According to residents, they have been visiting the outlet, located in Khar bazaar, to avail of the subsidy announced by the federal government, but the key items, including flour, sugar, ghee, pulses and rice, were not available there.

'The federal government has announced that wheat flour, sugar, ghee, pulses and rice would be available on subsidised prices at all the USC outlets, but I was disappointed after finding that none of these commodities were available at the utility store in Khar,' said Imad Khan, a resident of Bilalabad area of Khar tehsil.

He told this correspondent that he paid several visits to the outlet during last one week, but couldn't find any edible item there.
