Bajaur prayer leaders urged to play role for peace.

BAJAUR -- Senior officials of the district administration and security forces here on Tuesday called upon religious leaders to help establish durable peace in the district.

The call was made by deputy commissioner Fahad Wazir and Bajaur Scouts Commander Brigadier Rao Imran Sartaj during a meeting with a delegation of prayer leaders held at the DC office, according to a statement.

The officials appreciated the prayer leaders' role in promotion of peace and tolerance in the region, and asked them to contribute more to the cause by highlighting the importance Islam laid on peace.

Caretakers of different seminaries were also present on the occasion.
