Bajaur cattle market closed over SOP violation.

BAJAUR -- The district administration on Saturday closed the main cattle market for an indefinite period over violation of antiCovid-19 measures.

An official said several labourers working for the market`s contractors had also been arrested for not observing SOPs.

Talking to reporters, assistant commissioner Fazal Raheem said the weekly cattle market-cumSasta bazaar being held every Saturday in Sadiqabad town was closed for an indefinite period over SOP violations by the customers as well as its agents.

He said when a team reached the market both the visitors and the operators were not observing Covid-19induced restrictions, forcing the officials to close it down.

The official said owners of the cattle market that was reopened on May 2 after remaining shut since March 16 had assured the administration a day before its reopening that they would ensure strict observance of the SOPs, but to no avail.
