Al-Azizia Case: IHC adjourns hearing on plea seeking Nawaz's bail till Tuesday.

ISLAMABAD -- Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday adjourned the hearing on the plea seeking release of ex-prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on bail in Al-Azizia reference on medical grounds. The court has summoned reply from NAB, nine-member medical board of Services Hospital Lahore and Punjab government on Tuesday.

During the proceedings on the petition filed by PML-N President Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Medical Superintendent of Services Hospital told the two-member bench of the court headed by Justice Amir Farooq and Mohsim Akhtar Kiyani that Nawaz Sharif is suffering from various diseases including hypertension and blood pressure.

Justice Amir Farooq asked the doctor to tell about the health of ex-premier in simple words over which, the MS said his condition is still critical, adding that Nawaz's personal doctor Dr Adnan Khan is aware about everything and he has also shown his trust on the medical board.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani asked about the nature of Nawaz's disease that whether it is fatal or not responding to which, the doctors told it can be deadly if proper treatment is ignored.

Meanwhile, the MS said that Nawaz Sharif requires 50,000 platelets to travel from the hospital. The former premier cannot be taken to anywhere until stability of his condition, he continued.

Justice Moshin Akhtar Kiyani remarked it is also necessary to know whether the patient is satisfied over the treatment he is being given.

The medical board formed to review health condition of Nawaz Sharif submitted its report in the court during the course of the hearing while at the occasion the Superintendent the Services hospital Dr. Saleem Shahzad Cheema told the court that Nawaz Sharif has worrisome health condition, to which the court asked that "you didn't write any risk factor in the medical report while the court asked is his life in danger?.
