Azadi march: Private schools in Islamabad to remain closed today.

ISLAMABAD -- All private schools in the federal capital will remain closed today (Thursday) on account of the 'Azadi March' led by Jamaat-e-Ulema-Islami- Fazl (JUI-F).

Abdul Wahid Khan, the secretary of the private schools association, said the decision was taken to ensure the security of students. 'All private schools will remain closed.'

Afran Elahi, president of the association, added that the children's security was a priority and the 'decision to reopen schools will be taken after viewing the situation in the federal capital'.

More than 21,000 security personnel comprising police, Frontier Corps (FC) and Rangers have been deployed across the federal capital.
