Azadi March a movement not just a sit-in: Fazl.

LAHORE -- Ameer Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that his Azadi March is a movement not merely sit-in. He said, 'Can't say with certainty that Imran Khan will resign, the result is in Allah's hands.'

Addressing the participants of Azadi March before leaving for Islamabad from Lahore on Wednesday, the JUI-F chief said that Azadi March would be more tough in the coming days. 'We will place our demands after reaching Islamabad. The prime minister should resign before they reach Islamabad,' he said.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that they do not accept the results as the worst rigging was done in the general elections. 'The status of the government is illegal. It has proved incompetent as per its performance,' he said.

He said that the economy had sunken badly. 'We will have to fight the battle for the survival of the country. Today the common man is wailing at the price hike.'

The JUI-F chief said that the rulers had promised to construct five million houses, but they demolished thousands of houses.

The anti-government Azadi March set out on Sunday afternoon from Karachi's Sohrab Goth. Thousands of people, including seminary students are participating in the march.

In addition, convoys of political parties, including the Pakistan People's Party (PPP), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), the Awami National Party (ANP) and others, joined the march.
