AT plans seminars against digital census.

HYDERABAD -- The Awami Tehreek (AT) on Sunday decided to organise a series of seminars in different cities and towns of Sindh against digital census from April 2.

A meeting of the party's central committee, chaired by Lal Jarwar, reviewed the overall political situation in the country and announced a programme for the seminars.

The first seminar will be held in Mithi on April 2, Nawabshah on April 7, Naushahro Feroze on April 8, Sukkur on April 9 and Mirpurkhas on April 15, according to the programme.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr Jarwar claimed that immigrants were being brought to Sindh in a planned manner. The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) has claimed that apprehensions of the people of Sindh had been addressed but this is a blatant lie, according to the committee. 'Sindh's population is to be cut by half under this plan and the results of the digital census will be no different from [the one declared before] the previous general elections,' it said.

The committee called for expelling immigrants from Sindh. It noted that the ongoing census was being held to appease the Muttahida Qaumi Move_ment-Pakistan (MQM-P).
