ISLAMABAD -- Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood on Wednesday cautioned that escalation with India in future could take a dangerous turn and emphasised the maintenance of peace in South Asia as shared responsibility of the countries in the region.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Arms Control and Disarmament Centre at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI), the foreign secretary referred to the post-Pulwama stand-off, when India and Pakistan stepped back from the brink after intervention by the US and certain other countries, and said: 'It is not always possible to predict the trajectory of escalation in similar situations and...
