Arid varsity organises convocation ceremony.

RAWALPINDI -- A total of 4,715 degrees were awarded to students at the 23rd convocation ceremony of Arid University.

During the ceremony, 64 students received PhD degrees, 1,467 were awarded MPhil and master's degrees while 3,184 students received undergraduate degrees in their respective disciplines.

Gold medals were awarded to 41 students for outstanding performance while 24 students bagged silver and 24 secured bronze medals. In her address, Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairperson Dr Shaista Sohail said knowledge not only guarantees a better future for a person but also makes him or her into a better person.

'The education of science and technology has become an important need of the hour but to pass on our culture, geography, history and national heritage to the next generation we need to change our education system as this will make our identity distinct,' she said.
