ARC, ESEF to enroll 75,000 OOSCs in KP's 10 districts.

ISLAMABAD -- American Refugee Committee (ARC) and Elementary and Secondary Education Foundation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (ESEF-KP) Monday agreed to enroll 75,000 out-of-school children (OOSC) living across 10 districts of the province.

Both the organizations have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for detail implementation work plan for the next two years (2018-20) and expressed their intention to roll out the interventions.

This initiative is part of the program, implemented across Pakistan by the ARC in collaboration with government of Pakistan.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by the Managing Director of the ESEF, Zulfiqar Ahmed with the detailed work plan signed by the Country Representative of ARC, Dr Tariq Cheema.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Tariq Cheema said, 'Despite huge backlog of OOSCs in Pakistan, there is a strong sense of commitment of all stakeholders'.

He focused on strengthening public private partnerships with academia, policy think-tanks, non- government organizations and global experts to achieve the ambitious task of enrolling one million OOSCs across the country.

The program aims to enroll one million OOSCs in quality primary education schools while strengthening and building on existing formal and non-formal education systems.
