Anti-polio campaign to resume in December.

KARACHI -- Polio eradication campaign will be resumed from December 16 after a gap of over five months in the city with a renewed strategic plan of the World Health Organisation aimed at motivating parents to understand the importance of the anti-polio campaign, it emerged on Monday.

Official sources told Dawn that the decision to this effect was taken recently by the city's administration in a meeting chaired by Commissioner Iftikhar Shallwani with the representatives of the WHO, Unicef, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation's representative and officials of Emergency Operation Centre for Polio Eradication, Sindh, and the health department.
