Anti-dengue drive initiated in Taxila.

TAXILA -- An anti-dengue drive has been initiated by the tehsil municipal administration (TMA) as isolated rain spells and humid weather create the perfect breeding environment for mosquitos.

Dengue surveillance is being carried out at various points in the twin cities of Taxila and Wah. Assistant Commissioner Mohammad Faheem on Monday visitedareas which have previously been hotspots.

He visited houses in different localities including Saadat Colony, Gulistan Colony and Mohallah Gheela Khurd, where refusals for indoor surveillance were reported by anti-dengue teams.

During his visit, Mr Faheem observed attendance and performance of the dengue squad, deputed on field duty in these areas.

Special instructions have been issued to prevent spread of water from room coolers, air conditioners and refrigerators.
