ANP protests 'unfair' distribution of funds.

PESHAWAR -- Awami National Party former councillors and nazims on Monday held a protest demonstration against release of local government funds allegedly to irrelevant people and demanded of the provincial government to take action against the officials concerned.

The protesters led by MPA Samar Haroon Bilour gathered outside the Peshawar Press Club and shouted anti-government slogans.

Holding banners and placards inscribed with demands for action against the officials of the local government department, the protesters demanded probe into the matter.

Talking to mediapersons, Ms Bilour said the government was releasing funds to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MPAs and MNAs on the proposals of its former councillors and nazims.
