ANP hails quashing of presidential reference.

PESHAWAR -- Hailing the Supreme Court verdict in Justice Qazi Faez Isa case, the Awami National Party has said the rejection of the presidential reference against a serving judge was a historic decision that also exposed the Assets Recovery Unit.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, ANP central general secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain said the presidential reference against the senior Supreme Court judge was based on mala fide intention and that it was an attempt to defame the higher judiciary.

`Quashing of the presidential reference is victory of truth, justice and rule of the law,` he said.

The ANP leader said the government had been using the so-called ARU against its opponents.

He said there was a long list of the failure of the inefficient government.

Mr Hussain demanded an immediate ban on the ARU.
