Another young man falls prey to street crime.

KARACHI -- A teenage shopkeeper was shot dead by armed robbers in the Sachal area on Monday evening, police said.

They said that Abdul Razzaq was killed when he put up resistance to an armed robbery at his general store in Bilal Shah Noorani Goth in Scheme-33.

Area SHO Gulbahar Rind said that three armed robbers arrived at the shop, held the victim's brother at gunpoint and snatched cash and other valuables.

He said Razzaq also arrived at the shop and tried to overpower one of the fleeing robbers. His accomplices opened fire and fled. He suffered critical bullet wounds and was taken to a hospital where he died during treatment.
