Another fleet of electric buses to arrive soon: Sharjeel.

KARACHI -- The Sindh government on Friday decided to expand operation of its electric bus service and introduce environment-friendly public transport on more routes as new fleet of such buses are expected to arrive very soon.

'The Sindh Transport Department has decided to launch operations of Peoples Electric Bus Service on more new routes in Karachi in the month of Ramazan,' said Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon.

He said this while chairing a meeting to review public transport projects at his office.

'The minister directed the managing director of the Sindh Mass Transit Authority and project director National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) to finalise the arrangements of electric vehicle (EV) buses on new routes in the metropolis. He informed the meeting that a new fleet of environment-friendly European standard EV buses are being imported,' said a statement issued here on Friday.
