Amendments to maintain decorum in house.

ISLAMABAD -- The members of the Standing Committee on rules of procedures may bring in some amendments in existing rules and procedures related to the Parliamentary proceedings.

The purpose of introducing the amendment in existing rules is to make effective the Parliamentary Committee in terms of Parliamentary oversight, Parliamentary sources shared with the newspaper.

The other proposed amendments would be related to maintaining decorum in the House since rowdyism and use of abusive language, while the house proceedings in progress has become pervasive.

The members from Treasury Benches of the Parliamentary Committee would come up with the idea to slightly amend in existing rules.

The proposed amendment could be discussed in the upcoming Parliamentary body meeting, they said.

Sources said that the proposed amendment would bind the legislators to strictly follow the rules and procedures related to the conduct of lawmakers during the proceedings.

It may be mentioned here that the Speaker National Assembly had recently taken notice over the misconduct, use of insulting language by MNAs from Treasury and Opposition. The chair had also served show-cause notice to the lawmakers over their misconduct.

Parliamentary sources said that some of the lawmakers have submitted their reply to the National Assembly secretariat. PML-N's MNA Hamid Hameed in his response demanded footage of his misconduct during the proceedings of the National Assembly, as he was served notice for keeping shoes in his hand near the Speaker's podium.
