Allied wears deserted look because of doctors strike.

FAISALABAD -- All wards of the Allied Hospital, except the emergency facility, wore a deserted look on Thursday as the doctors refused to admit or treat patients following a strike call given by the Grand Health Alliance.

A few patients who had already been admitted to different wards of the hospital, were found complaining of doctors absence.

However, the nurses, who had also announced to join the strike in solidarity with the doctors, were witnessed performing their duties. Besides performing their duties, the nurses had been taking part in the protest at the outpatient department.

Some of the protesting doctors alleged they had been forced to withdraw services at the outpatient and indoor wards of the hospital because of lethargic attitude of the health authorities.

They warned if the government did not initiated a dialogue with them for resolving their issues, their protest movement would accelerate.
