All eyes on Larkana by-election on PS-11.

LARKANA -- As many as 1,52,614 registered voters in the entire PS-11 constituency of Larkana-II will be casting their vote today (Oct 17) to elect their MPAS. Out of these registered voters as many as 83,015 are males and 69,598 are females. There will be 138 polling stations in the entire constituency out of which 52 will be combined for male and female voters, 43 each for females and males. There will be 493 booths out of which 235 will be exclusively for female and 258 for male voters. 20 polling stations have been declared very sensitive, 50 sensitive and 68 normal. DIGP Larkana Irfan Baloch has directed to ensure foolproof security during the day.

District Returning Officer Nadim Hyder said that CCTV camera have been installed at very sensitive polling stations. Election material including ballot boxes and papers was being shifted to the relevant polling stations under tight security. The by-election is going to be a test case for PPP as it has claimed to regain it. All eyes will be on this constituency which was at the previously won by Moazim Ali Abbasi, joint candidate of Larkana Awami Ittehad (LAI) and Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA). He defeated Nida Khuhro, daughter of PPP Sindh Chief Nisar Ahmed Khuhro who was disqualified. Later on Abbasi was also de-notified by ECP on the order of apex court.

In 2018 general elections Moazim Abbasi defeated his rival with vast margin, in Larkana, claimed to be the hub of PPP, by 10,367 votes as he secured 32,178 votes and Nida Khuhro only obtained 21,811 votes.
