THE federal and provincial authorities should have acted pro-actively much before the first Covid-19 cases were reported in Pakistan.

The authorities already had information about the plight of countries like Italy and Iran besides China, yet they did not proceed with haste to take precautionary measures.

The federal government should have moved with speed given that this country's health facilities are not in a position to deal with a coronavirus pandemic.
