AIG office to be fully empowered, says IGP.

MULTAN -- IGP Shoaib Dastagir says the office of additional inspector general (AIG) south Punjab is being made functional with full administrative powers and resources to provide justice to the people of south Punjab.

During his first visit to the city after the announcement of the appointment of the AIG, the IGP said that the AIG south Punjab had been given the task of making police delivery service and complaint management system in the region effective so that the benefits of new police system could reach the common man.

'While keeping in view the longstanding demand of the people of this area, the legal obstacles to transfer the third degree power of changing of investigation to AIG south Punjab are being removed,' he stated while addressing the participants in police Darbar which was held at the Police Lines.

He said the appeals of police employees of Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan and Bahawalpur in connection with service matters and punishments would also be heard by the AIG south Punjab.
