Afnan orders to speed up conservation work on Allama Iqbal's residence.

LAHORE -- Chairman Senate Standing Committee on National Heritage and Culture Afnan Ullah Khan on Thursday ordered to speed up work on conservation plan of Allama Muhammad Iqbal's residence, and ordered the Department of Archaeology and Museums (DOAM) to present progress report after every three months in committee meeting.

He said this while chairing the Senate Standing Committee meeting here at Aiwan-e-Iqbal. Later, he visited Allama Muhammad Iqbal's residence at Mcleod Road. Senetor Irfan-ul-Haq Siddiqui, Senetor Kheshoo Bai, Senetor Atta Ur Rehman, Farzana Khan DG/Secretary Committee, Dr Abdul Azeem Director General Department of Archaeology and Museums (DOAM), Dr Rashid Hameed DG National Language Promotion Department, Prof. Dr Baseera Ambreen Director Iqbal Academy Pakistan and Anjum Waheed Administrator Aiwan-E-Iqbal attended the meeting.

The Chairman committee Afnan Ullah Khan said that Allama Iqbal was a great philosopher and conservation of his residences was our responsibility. He said that Pakistan could achieve a clear distinction in political, economic, social and religious spheres if we follow the thought and philosophy of great poet, Allama Muhammad Iqbal in true spirit.
