Action sought over hospital staffers' humiliation.

TOBA TEK SINGH -- Pakistan Kisan Rabta Committee secretary general Farooq Tariq has demanded the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) to take notice of the behaviour of Toba Tek Singh District Bar Association where two officials of the District Headquarters Hospital were brought in handcuffs by the police high-ups and forced to offer apology to the lawyers over a scuffle between both the groups.

In a press statement here on Friday, Mr Tariq said scuffle had taken place in the hospital on Oct 1 between lawyers and paramedics which had resulted in continuous strike by the paramedics and lawyers for two weeks.

On Thursday, he added, reconciliation was made with the mediation of the deputy commissioner and district police officer. 'The paramedics were brought from police lock-up and they were humiliated in the presence of DC Mohsin Rashid and DPO Waqar Shoaib Qureshi while the video clip of this insulting scene in which they were forced to seek pardon from the lawyers was also made viral on social media.'
