ISLAMABAD -- The National Price MonitoAring Committee (NPMC) of the government on Friday took notice of the price hike of poultry products in the country and asked provincial governments to take action against profiteers and bring down prices of poultry products to provide relief to the masses.

The NPMC meeting, chaired by its chairman federal finance secretary Naveed Kamran Baloch, reviewed prices of essential food commodities.

The committee directed provincial governments and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration to take strict action against profiteers taking undue profit margin in the sale of the products and ensure smooth supply of these food items in markets and bring their prices down.

The provincial representatives and officials of ICT administration assured the meeting that they would take all possible measures to bring down prices of poultry products in markets in coming days and take action against profiteers.
