ACE directors told to complete probes or else.

LAHORE -- Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Director General Nadeem Sarwar has given a deadline of Dec 31 to regional directors to complete the pending inquiries, and in case of failure, action will be taken against them.

At a meeting with regional directors here on Monday, Mr Sarwar said the reports of high-profile cases of all regions should be sent to him with the latest progress.

The meeting was informed the ACE recovered Rs16.67 million in various raids and arrests, and retrieved the state land worth Rs681.7 million in the last month.

In October, challans of 149 cases were submitted to the courts, of which 79 were decided. Similarly, permanent prosecutors have been deputed to anti-corruption courts to provide legal assistance.
