ACD leading platform for dialogue, discussions: Qureshi.

ISLAMABAD -- Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Thursday said that Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) was a leading platform that had transformed into a robust institutional mechanism for dialogue and discussions among the member states.

The 17th ACD Ministerial Meeting was held in a virtual format. Foreign Minister Qureshi represented Pakistan in the meeting.

In his address, the FM highlighted the devastating repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic on sustainable development and developing countries.

Pakistan, he said, had stressed the need to coordinate actions, benefit from each other's experiences, and pool resources for responding to the pandemic and financing the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The Foreign Minister said Pakistan was open to share its experience and internationally acknowledged approach in effectively combating the pandemic, and emphasised the need for the Covid-19 vaccine to become easily and equitably accessible to all.
