Accountability Court rejects Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, 10 others acquittal plea in rental power corruption case.

ISLAMABAD -- An Accountability Court (AC) in Islamabad on Wednesday rejected the plea of former prime minister and Pakistan People's Party leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and 10 other accused seeking acquittal in the Naudero II power plant case.

Accountability court Judge Muhammad Bashir announced this verdict on the applications filed under NAB Amendment Ordinance, 2019.

According to details, the AC ordered to continue trials of all suspects including the former premier. The accused had filed acquittal pleas under the National Accountability (Amendment) Ordinance, 2019.

The anti-corruption watchdog had filed a reference pertaining to Naudero II power plant case in 2013, according to which, Former Prime Minister Pervez Ashraf and other accused allegedly misused their powers, inflicting a loss of Rs7.5 million on the national exchequer.
