95 businesses sealed for violating parking, building laws.

LAHORE -- The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed on Friday 95 business premises on Abdul Haq Road in Johar Town for illegal land conversion, encroachment, violations of parking and building regulations, etc.

According to a spokesman for the authority, among the sealed properties are several shops, commercial plazas, pharmacies, food points, and bakeries. Repeated notices were given to the owners of properties to take action in accordance with the rules.

LDA Director General/Lahore Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa told a meeting here on Friday a strict action should be taken against the defaulters of commercialization fees.

He said field teams should make the enforcement mechanism tougher, adding that regular meetings should be held to achieve the targets.

He said according to the court orders, concrete steps should be taken to upgrade and convert the nine important roads of the provincial capital into model ones.
