94 PTI workers, office-bearers booked for blocking roads.

BAHAWALNAGAR -- About 94 workers and office-bearers of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) have been booked for blocking roads and inciting the public during their protests in Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar.

In Bahawalpur, the Civil Lines Police booked 12 PTI local leaders, including former MPA, district and city presidents and former president, for allegedly blocking a road to take out a procession during their protest in the city.

In this connection, former MPA Samiullah Chaudhry, PTI district president Muhammad Asghar Joiya, city president Qayyum Azam, former district president Tahseen Gardezi, former city president Aslam Adil, Khurram Khan, district president Youth wing Kashif Arshad, district president labour wing Tahir Janbaz and others have been nominated in the case.

The first information report (FIR) was registered on the complaint of Sub-Inspector Khalid Razzaq.

It alleged that during their protest on Wednesday, the PTI leaders and workers armed with clubs blocked the road, causing inconvenience for the general public. Police did not claim any arrest.

The PTI leaders termed the case fabricated, saying that they did not take out any rally on the day in question while protesting against the police action in Zaman Park, Lahore.

In Bahawalnagar, the district police on Wednesday booked 82 PTI workers, including all office-beaters of the Bahawalnagar chapter of the party on charges blocking roads and inciting the public with hate speech during a protest at Rafique Shah Chowk.
