9 universities in KP oppose restoration of student unions.

PESHAWAR -- Nine public sector and private universities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have opposed the restoration of student unions at educational institutions. These universities have furnished their recommendations to the KP government. Many other public sector and private universities of the province will furnish their recommendations in this regard within a week. The KP government has not taken any decision about the restoration of student unions yet. Sources said recommendations were sought from private and public sector universities about the restoration of student unions. The sources said the administration of seven public sector universities in different parts of KP and two private universities in Peshawar have strongly opposed the restoration of student unions. The sources said the vice chancellors of the opposing universities have adopted the stance that student unions would further complicate the problems of universities.
