80 countries including Pakistan engaged in preparing anti-corona vaccine: Dr Atta ur Rahman.

ISLAMABAD -- Prime Minister Task Force for Science and Technology Chairman Dr Atta ur Rahman Monday said some 80 countries including Pakistan was engaged in preparing anti-corona vaccine.

Talking to a private news channel, he said the first phase of vaccine manufacturing had been completed in many countries, while in the second phase, all the companies would seek permission from their drug regulatory authorities to fulfill the next procedure.

As far as effectiveness and time frame of the vaccine was concerned, he said, 'We need to have some 12 to 16 months including the period of clinical and physical testing of the patients having COVID-19.' he said adding we were focusing on the other methods like combination of drugs.

He said the efficacy of drug combination namely hydroxychloroquine and erthromycine, was much better than waiting for vaccine, which, he added, was a time consuming procedure in the pathological...
