The right-handed batsman Asad Shafiq thinks that Pakistan were 40 to 50 runs short in the first inning against Sri Lanka in the second Test.

'I think 40 to 50 more runs would have given us more strength in the game. However, the bowlers somehow gave us some confidence by picking up three early wickets. I hope we get them out earlier tomorrow,' said Shafiq, who scored 63 runs, once again failing to convert double figures into a triple.

To a query about not playing a triple-figure knock for the last 12 innings, Asad said that he is trying to get his focus back. 'I know which areas need some more work. I am working on it and I hope to be back with more power,' he maintained.
