38 coronavirus victims died overnight: Murad.

KARACHI -- As many as 1,949 new cases of coronavirus were detected when 11,901 samples were tested and 38 more patients lost their lives overnight taking the death toll to 1,243.

This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Saturday from CM House.

He said that 11,901 tests, the highest in Pakistan, were conducted against which 1,949 new cases of coronavirus were detected constituting 22 per cent detection rate.

The chief minister said that so far 426,149 samples were tested all over Sindh which diagnosed 78,267 cases, and 55.5pc or 43,444 patients recovered, including 1,452 overnight.

He said that 38 more patients died lifting the death toll to 1,243. The death rate comes to 1.5pc, said the CM in the statement.

Mr Shah said that currently 33,580 patients were under treatment and 32,127 of them were in home isolation, 78 at isolation centres and 1,375 at different hospitals. 'I am sorry to say, 696 patients are in critical condition, including 116 shifted to...
