33 Covid-19 patients die, says Murad.

KARACHI -- Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday said that 2,287 more people tested positive while 33 patients died overnight lifting the death toll in the province to 886.

In a statement issued here from Chief Minister House, he said that 11,819 samples were tested against which 2,287 new Covid-19 cases were detected that constituted 20 per cent result. '[So] far 319,231 tests have been conducted which diagnosed 57,868 cases in Sindh,' he added.

Mr Shah said that 33 more patients died overnight lifting the death toll to 886 that constituted 1.5pc death rate.

He said 27,737 patients were under treatment, of them 26,170 in home isolation, 69 at isolation centres and 1,498 at different hospitals. He disclosed that 633 patients were in critical condition, of them 109 were shifted to ventilators.

According to Mr Shah, 1,230 patients have recovered over the past 24 hours and returned to normal life. He said the number of patients recovered so far had reached 29,245 that constituted 50pc recovery rate. 'It [recovery rate] had dropped down a few days back to 48 and now it has started improving because of better health services,' he said.
