KARACHI -- Police on Monday launched a crackdown against kite manufacturers, sellers and flyers, detained over 30 persons and recovered thousands of kites and strings from their custody.

According to officials, these actions were carried out ostensibly after the tragic death of four-year-old Sufian who died when a kite string slit his neck in Nazimabad No. 2 recently.

The city police chief took notice of the incident and directed the force to take strict action to save the lives of children.

Police sources on Monday said that the actions were taken in Azizabad, Shahrah-i-Noor Jehan, Liaquatabad, Samanabad, Gulberg, Nazimabad, Rizvia Society, Taimuria, Hyderi Market...
