31 schools to get water filtration plants.

GUJRAT -- Deputy Commissioner (DC) Khurram Shahzad says he will install water filtration plants in 31 public schools with the help of philanthropists.

He told Dawn the schools with 1,000 or more students had been selected for clean drinking water supply. These plants will be linked with deep bore water turbines.

One such water filtration plant has been installed by a philanthropist in a government school in Bunian village.

The DC said some philanthropists would fund the clean drinking water projects.

The administration has completed several public welfare projects under public private initiatives such as the Rs130 million trauma centre and a Rs40 million burn center at Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching...
