3 to 4 million people suffered in mental health desease every year.

KARACHI -- 90 per cent population of the Pakistan is deprived off from due attention which they deserve in society, in European countries such neglected persons ratios is around 50 percent, Mental disease is considered as third largest disease now and according to World Health Organization (WHO) survey every year around 3 to 4 million people suffered in mental health disease. This was stated by veteran Education Psychologist and CBT expert Awisha Inayat while delivering lecture on the occasion of world Mental Health day at Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, Karachi yesterday. The lecture was arranged by BS-Psychology, Coordinator and Advisor Maryum Hanif Ghazi of the University.

In her lecture, Awisha Inayat said this year the theme of Mental Health day is prevention from suicide because the trend of increase in suicidal attempts is on a very higher side worldwide which a matter of great concern is. She said that the basic reason of alarming enhancement in suicidal attempts is that majority of the people are being ignored by the society and our present standard of living.
