24 more found to be corona-positive in Shikarpur.

SHIKARPUR -- Twenty-four out of 101 persons whose samples were collected a couple of days ago tested positive for coronavirus on Wednesday, further adding to the number of local transmissions of the virus in the city.

Health officials said that the 24 included eight women, two children and 14 men, raising total of Covid-19 patients to 124 including 111 cases of local transmission.

The district administration and health department have opted to quarantine all the infected persons at their homes excluding 13 members of Tableeghi Jamaat who were sent to Labour Colony quarantine centre in Sukkur. Only six patients have been shifted to quarantine centre in Shikarpur.

Three days back, an elderly man and a woman were declared Covid-19 patients after their deaths when they had already been buried without following SOPs.

SUKKUR: A 35-year-old suspected Covid-19 patient and a woman died in isolation ward for Covid-19 at Sukkur Civil Hospital on Wednesday.

Doctors said the patient was brought to the hospital in a serious condition on Tuesday with symptoms of coronavirus. The patient was admitted to the isolation ward where he died.

The woman who was brought from Sukha Talab area with symptoms of Covid-19 also died in the isolation ward on Tuesday, said officials.

In Jacobabad, two more prisoners tested positive for coronavirus at district jail, raising the figure of confirmed coronavirus patients in the district to 68.
