232-kanal state land worth Rs 87m retrieved from land grabbers.

MULTAN -- District administration launched crackdown and retrieved 232 kanals state land worth Rs 87 million from land grabbers at Basti Malook area here on Wednesday.

The operation was carried out under supervision of Assistant Commissioner Sadar Abginay Khan. The team took wheat crop cultivated on 168 kanals land into the custody while the amount recovered from wheat selling would be deposited into the national kitty. The ploughing was also made on the gross crop through tractor. The land mafia have also occupied on 29 acres of 5 marla scheme.

The case was registered against the accused at Basti Malook area. Tehsildar Sadar Ghani Khan and SHO Basti Malook along with heavy police contingent were also present. 100 kanals land fixed for Multan Gymkhana

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has honored his pledge as 100 kanals land was fixed for construction of gymkhana at Matti Tal road.

Commissioner Multan division and Chairman Gymkhana, Javed Akhtar Mahmood, expressed these views while presiding over first meeting of gymkhana board of governors here on Wednesday.

The membership process has been started after proper registration of name of Multan Gymkhana.

Commissioner said that the task of logo of the gymkhana was assigned to fine arts department of Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) as the logo to be made by keeping in view the culture of the region. He said that the civil society could participate in establishment of gymkhana. He informed that swimming pool, restaurant and other facilities would be provided at gymkhana while international hockey stadium was also being set-up along with the gymkhana. It was decided in the meeting that an official bank account will be opened for economic affairs of the gymkhana. On this occasion, VC BZU, VC Nawaz Sharif Engineering University and others were also present.

NAB arranges awareness seminar on anti-money laundering
